Our Story

Erin's Story

After graduating from college with a Radiology Technologist's degree, I moved to Myrtle Beach and shared an apartment with my brother, Ryan. When he moved back home, I stayed in Myrtle Beach. I didn't know anyone, so I decided to get out there and start dating.

After a handful of failed attempts, I made the decision to delete my dating app and put that part of my life behind me. Upon opening my app, I noticed I'd matched with someone who "wanted to see what Valhalla was all about." I took a chance and initiated a conversation with him about our shared interest in Norse mythology, and the rest is history!

Our first date felt like the 50th; we instantly clicked. After dinner, neither of us wanted to go home, so we went to Dave & Buster's and spent a few more hours playing games together.

And that was that. We've been inseparable ever since! As my brother once said: "They're so disgustingly compatible."

RYAN'S STORY

Through a series of successes and unfortunate events, I found myself where I always knew I'd end up: Myrtle Beach. I was new in town: new job, new phone, new lease on life. It was miserable. After a short while of getting back on my feet, I decided to put myself back out there again. It didn't take long until I met someone who would change what I called home for good.

I met Erin in the goofiest and best way possible. A throw away line about Vikings and Valhalla was something a better dating profile would probably omit, but I just couldn't miss a chance to let my weird shine through. Now we say "Your weird matches my weird" because we both get to be ourselves when we're together. I couldn't imagine making a more perfect match for myself. After a few short dates, and a couple of Covid outbreaks, we decided to move in together and start building towards something more.

While we both were just getting started, I had promised her two things: a house and a ring. No small feats, but I wanted to prove to her that she was worth it, and so was I. We worked hard, and we still do, to make our dreams come to life, and that is all I could ever ask for.
